Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is preparing the way for a possible fight between featherweight champions Juan Manuel Lopez and Yuriorkis Gamboa, in June of 2012. Lopez defends his WBO title on Saturday night against Orlando Salido in Puerto Rico on Saturday night. Arum said Gamboa is likely going to make a defense of his WBA title before the end of the year in Puerto Rico, in order to help build the fight.

"That's a great fight and we must get it done in the first six months of 2012 but at 130 pounds. Gamboa must fight once more before the end of the year and it could be in Puerto Rico and ther is a large Cuban community here. We are discussing this with Peter Rivera [promoter for Puerto Rico Best Boxing]," Arum revealed.

"We're looking to hold it at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gamboa has a Cuban community in Florida but they do not support the Cuban fighters. Juanma Lopez has a great personality. When he went to the Philippines, he was well received. They loved him in Mexico and he's loved among the Puerto Ricans in the United States. And that's good for a py-per-view audience."
