Kevin Lavallee: record, next fight and profile →
Sub .500 Jose Silveria delivered an early candidate for Upset of the Year, shocking previously unbeaten Kevin Lavallee in their six-round super featherweight bout. Scores were 57-56 (twice) and 58-55 in favor of Silveria, who dropped Lavalleee in round three and seemed to do more than enough to win a decision. Instead, the knockdown proved to be the difference between a majority decision draw and the shocker that came of the bout.
Undefeated junior lightweight prospects Joel Diaz Jr. and Kevin Lavallee will face off against each other on the undercard of the March 14 show in Montreal featuring a main event between light heavyweights Sergey Kovalev and Jean Pascal. That’s according to Greg Leon, who heads up Jean Pascal Promotions, which handles Diaz Jr. Leon broke the news during a Jan. 14 press conference, and it was also mentioned in a tweet by promoter Interbox.
In the main event of a show promoted by Yvon Michel, former NABA super feathrweight champion Arash Usmanee (15-0-0) scored a third round technical knockout of Hungarian Laszlo Balogh Robert (13-8-1) at Chapiteau CCSE Maisonneuve in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
