A deal is inching even closer for an Anthony Joshua vs. Joseph Parker showdown, according to Parker's head trainer Kevin Barry.
The two sides have now been negotiating for several weeks, for a showdown in the first quarter of 2018 - with dates in March and April being discussed.
A deal with Parker, who holds the WBO world title, is going to come at a much cheaper price than WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
Parker will accept no less than 35 percent of the proceeds from the fight, while Wilder is demanding half the cash from any showdown with Joshua.
The 32-year-old American was angered by Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, who said "over my dead body" when asked if Wilder would get a straight split.
"I'm not chasing Joshua," Wilder told ESPN. "If he doesn't want the fight, then that's fine. It is a great fight, it is one of the biggest fights in the world and everyone wants it, [but] it will be 50-50 or else we don't see a fight."
Parker's trainer, Kevin Barry, confirmed to RadioLIVE's Sunday Sport that fans can expect an official announcement in the next 7-10 days.
"We are very close to reaching an agreement and, like I said, we have made several concessions, because we want this fight," Barry said.
"We want Joseph's body in the right shape to enter our biggest-ever training camp. Hopefully, in the next week to 10 days, we will be able to say it's Anthony Joshua.
"One thing I can tell you as a fact is that Sky UK wants this fight. They want Joseph Parker.
"They want Parker in front of Joshua, and that helps us with our negotiations and gives us leverage."
IBF, WBA, IBO champion Joshua, 28, stopped mandatory challenger Carlos Takam in ten rounds in October, extending his unbeaten career to 20 fights with all 20 by knockout.
Parker, 25, is 24-0 with 18 by knockout, after relatively unconvincing wins this year over Romanian Razvan Cojanu and Briton Hughie Fury.
