WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (23-0) fights for the second time this year when he faces Hughie Fury (20-0) on September 23rd at the Machanester Arena in Manchester, UK.
The fight will be Parker's second of the year and if everything goes well he hopes to fight again before the end of the year. The New Zealander has maintained a busy schedule, fighting five times a year the past three years.
"Sure if everything goes well and if we stay undefeated I am sure I will be back at the end of the year," Parker told BoxingScene.com.
The 25-year-old Parker is promoted by Duco Events and co-promoted by Top Rank Inc. in the United States. Top Rank recently announced a four year deal with ESPN that will include 18 events in 2018. Parker hopes to get the chance to fight on the Worldwide Sports Leader in the near future.
"That is pretty exciting having that deal and getting more exposure so hopefully I can jump on one of those cards," said Parker who cautioned that he must get past Fury before looking ahead.
"My full focus is on Fury. This is pretty much a make or break fight. You win this fight and it's on to bigger fights but if you lose you have to start again so I am just focused on this. Hopefully I get it done and then I can move forward."
Parker vs. Fury will be shown exclusively live in the UK and Ireland on YouTube on a pay-per-view basis with further countries to be announced shortly. A portion of the undercard will also be streamed for free before the big fight. There is a special advance purchase offer price of only £9.99 in the UK and €11.99 in the Republic of Ireland until midnight on Sunday 17th September.
