Comments Thread For: Joseph Parker: Hughie Fury is a Make or Break Fight For Me

WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (23-0) fights for the second time this year when he faces Hughie Fury (20-0) on September 23rd at the Machanester Arena in Manchester, UK. The fight will be Parker's second of the year and if everything goes well he hopes to fight again before the end of the year. The New Zealander has maintained a busy schedule, fighting five times a year the past three years.

If Parker is half the fighter I think he is he should do a number on fury

Never like this kind of talk from a fighter though it sounds like doubt keeping in

He must know a joushua / wilder fight will set him up for life £££

I'm hoping he does win but could easily see him being out worked

Parker is expected to win, so I don't see any 'make' in the fight for Parker, just 'break' if he loses.

But its a 'make' fight for Fury as it will catapult him up in the rankings for some potentially big fights.

Got this 50/50. Best opponent both will have faced.

No he isnt, it's practically a pick em at the bookies, with Parker a slight favorite...

Just noticed that and quite surprised. While Parker's opposition hasn't been exactly stunning, he's been in there with a few decent guys, while Fury's opposition has been considerably weaker to date, so don't know why he's being given such good odds.

Its not like you watch Fury and see emerging superstar talent.

......but then again, we all thought the same about Tyson Fury at one point....

Fury is a very good mover boxer. Will never be an explosive KO artist but his fundamentals are already right up there at the top of the division. Not great opponents fought Rudenko probably his best and he made easier work of him than Lucas Browne or Povetkin. I think his style combined with hometown advantage evens the odds. Realistically Parker will have to win 8-9 rounds to get the points decision in Manchester.

Several of us realized Tyson Fury was the real deal well before the Wlad fight tronco.
