Frenchman Zine Eddine Benmakhlouf (20-4-1, 10 KOs) got his first career title at the age of 37, though hardly a meaningful one. Benmakhlouf outpointed traveling Croatian Tony Visic over twelve rounds of monotonous action for a vacant World Boxing Federation Intercontinental cruiserweight title. Visic is now just a notch below the 1.000 limit with a new record of 15-16-1, 4 KOs. His opponent is best known for a draw with then-champion (interim) Steve Herelius in 2007 and for a one-sided loss to Roy Jones Jr. in December 2013.

Both Sauerland Promotion´s website and French websites confirm that Mateusz Masternak (33-2) takes on former world cruiserweight champ and heavyweight contender Jean Marc Mormeck (37-5) on December 5 in Issy les Molinueaux (France).The 42-year old Mormeck returned to the ring this year and went back to cruiser after campaigning as a heavyweight 2009-2012. Mormeck was stopped by Wladimir Klitschko after a poor performance in 2012.

Former cruiserweight champion Jean-Marc Mormeck (37-5, 23 KOs) will likely be the next opponent of Polish contender Mateusz Masternak (33-2, 24 KOs). The fight will take place at the end of this or early next year in Germany. The 42-year-old Frenchman was at one time considered of the best boxers at cruiserweight and held the WBC/WBA titles. Eventually he moved up to heavyweight and was demolished by Wladimir Klitschko in four rounds. After more than two years away from the ring, Mormeck returned to action this past June and got a TKO win over Tamas Lodi.

Jean-Marc Mormeck Snags TKO Win in Comeback
Frenchman Jean-Marc Mormeck, the two-time former WBC and WBA cruiserweight champion, made a successful return to the ring on Thursday, the referee stopping the fight against Hungary's Tamas Lodi in the fourth round. Mormeck has not fought since losing out in the fourth round to Wladimir Klitschko in a WBO-IBF-WBA heavyweight title fight in March 2012 in Duesseldorf, Germany.

Jean-Marc Mormeck Officially Reveals Ring Return
Former cruiserweight champion Jean-Marc Mormeck is making a comeback to boxing. Speaking on his 42nd birthday, Mormeck said in Paris on Tuesday he would return after an absence of more than two years to fight Hungary's Tamas Lodi later this month. The Frenchman, who held the WBC and WBA cruiserweight titles, has not fought since March 2012 when he challenged heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and was knocked out in the fourth round.

42-year old Jean Marc Mormeck (36-5) will return to action and have a fight lined up on June 26 in d´Asnieres (France). Mormeck was last seen in 2012 fighting Wladimir Klitschko and was blown away in four after a poor performance but for his comeback Jean Marc will drop down to cruiser where he held both the WBA and WBC titles. He retired after losing to David Haye in 2007 but returned as a heavyweight in 2009 where he won four straight before getting a shot at Klitschko. As for his comeback opponent, the French Federation have turned down Georgian Shalva Jomardashvili based on his poor recent record with six losses in his last ten fights, five inside the distance.

Jean Marc Mormeck Injured, Wlodarczyk Clash is Off
WBC cruiserweight king Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (47-2-1, 33 KOs) received some bad news. The scheduled fight with former champion Jean-Marc Mormeck (36-5, 22 KOs), scheduled for February 9th in Equatorial Guinea, is now off. According to sources in France, Mormeck suffered a bad left shoulder injury during training camp and he won't be able to train for at least two months. It was the first cruiserweight bout for the 40-year-old Mormeck in several years. The fight has been postponed several times already and there is no word on when or where this fight will land in the future.
