The return of World Boxing Council (WBC) lightweight champion Humberto Soto (55-7-2, 32KOs) has been confirmed. A date of June 25 has been reserved on Televisa, according to Soto's manager Antonio Lozada of Baja Boxing. Soto was going to return on May 7 in a rematch with Urbano Antillon on the Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley undercard, but he later withdrew after announcing he was a promotional free agent. No opponent has been announced for the June date. As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, Daniel Estrada has been the rumored opponent.

"We're working on it. The date is set, June 25, but several states [in Mexico] are interested in this fight and we are negotiating with some, both Mexican and foreign, to take the fight with Humberto Soto and make it as attractive as possible," indicated Lozada.

Soto will begin his concentration in Temoaya with his team led by his trainer Romulo Quirarte Jr.

Antonio “Cañitas” Lozada Jr. (23-0, 20 KOs) is likely to appear on the undercard, which is also going to include David “Morita” De la Mora (23-0, 16kOs) and Julio Cesar “Gatito” Félix (15-3, 6KOs).
