Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs), rejects the idea that his star has a questionable chin.

That claim will be tested in the early part of 2018, when Joshua likely steps in the ring with WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs).

Parker, and his promoter David Higgins, believe Joshua has a suspect chin that is there for the taking.

Last month, Parker and Higgins held a press conference in New Zealand to discuss the very topic of Joshua's chin.

Joshua has been down as a pro, and he's been rocked in more than one fight, but Hearn points to his boxer's huge win over Wladimir Klitschko in April.

Hearn points out that his boxer took numerous big shots during that contest, withstood the blows and came away with a stoppage win in the eleventh round.

"He had to come through hell in that fight, come off the floor from a right hand that would have decked everybody in the division," Hearn said to Stuff.

"David Higgins is doing a great job trying to ruffle the feathers. But I completely disagree with what he says about AJ's chin, I think in the Klitschko fight he showed he has a remarkable chin. He got buzzed and he went down but he got up and he was fine. He got hit with some huge hits in that fight."

What Hearn really wants to know is how solid of a chin does Parker possess.

While there has always discussion that Parker has a granite jaw - Hearn does not believe the New Zealand star has ever been fully tagged by a solid power puncher like Joshua.

"People talk about Joseph Parker's chin like he has this great chin. The truth is we have no idea about Joseph Parker's chin because he has never been hit by a big-punching heavyweight," Hearn said.

"Carlos Takam is not a puncher, he's a strong man; Razvan Cojanu, you can't really take any notice of; Andy Ruiz is not really a big puncher; Hughie Fury certainly isn't.

"If Joseph Parker has a great chin, this could be the fight of the year. But let's see how he reacts when he gets hit on the chin by Anthony Joshua. That's the fascinating thing."
