There's no denying that the stakes are incredibly high when IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion, Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs), defends his titles against Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) on September 16th in what is the most anticipated fight on the boxing calendar heading into the fall.

Golovkin told a group of reporters at his open workout - "It's the biggest fight, it's the biggest fight of my career. 'Canelo', he's the biggest champion from Mexico, biggest name, pay-per-view, it's very interesting."

But when asked if there was extra pressure given the stage, Golovkin just merely chuckled at the mere thought.

Golovkin's trainer, Abel Sanchez, stated - "What pressure?? He's sold out seven arenas in a row. So fans have been there, they've supported him. It's just another fight, it's just another opponent in front of us. (Daniel) Jacobs, (Curtis) Stevens, (David) Lemieux, all those were big fights. 'Canelo' is just another fighter, nothing special."

While Golovkin has certainly been an attraction in his own right and been involved in sizable events, this upcoming bout is at another level.

"It's the biggest financial fight, let's put it that way," conceded Sanchez.

But when it's all said and done - it's still just boxing.

"There's still going to be 20-some thousand in the arena and it's just a fight, two guys in the middle of the ring going at each other. 'Canelo', we sparred with him, 'Canelo' knows Golovkin. We're just coming to fight," said Sanchez.

"If he comes to fight we're all going to be treated to a great fight but it's just another fight for us."

The fight takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with HBO Pay-Per-View carrying the event.
