The World Boxing Association middleweight super champion, Gennady "GGG" Golovkin looked to be in top form during his public workout prior to his upcoming fourteenth defense against Boxino champion Willie Monroe Jr. The HBO televised fight takes place this Saturday at the Inglegood Forum in California.
Golovkin showed off some moves during a practice session with his trainer Abel Sánchez, before the media who did not waste the opportunity to speak with the champion.
While he loosened up in the ring, with some hand movements and doing some shadow boxing - he heard someone ask the question - 'are you ready to fight Floyd Mayweather?' Quickly Golovkin replied back, with his characteristic smile - "ask Mayweather if he is ready for me" - which caused laughter among those present.
Golovkin (32-0, 29 KO) is focused on Monroe Jr. (19-1, 6 KO), but he stated that he's very willing to drop down to 154-pounds to Mayweather (48-0, 26KOs), who holds the WBC/WBA world titles in that division.
