Ukrainian heavyweight Vyacheslav Glazkov, who won an Olympic bronze medal in the 2008 games, is planning to return to the ring after a serious injury at the end of the summer, according to his promoter Kathy Duva of Main Events.

In the fall of 2015, Glazkov was the IBF's mandatory challenger to then world champion Tyson Fury. The fight didn't happen because Fury was contractually obligated to face Wladimir Klitschko in a rematch, so the sanctioning body stripped him.

In January of last year at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York - Glazkov faced Charles Martin for the vacant IBF title. He suffered a knee injury in the third round and was unable to continue.

Now the 32-year-old Glazkov (21 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw) is looking to return to the ring.  He was originally going to fight again last fall, but his knee was still giving him problems and he needed a few additional months of recovery time.

Duva spoke with Glazkov's manager, Egis Klimas, and the boxer would like to return in the coming months.

"I spoke with Glazkov's manager, Egis Klimas. Glazkov plans to return to the ring by the end of the summer. I hope that he does, and I wish him a speedy recovery," Duva told Vasily Konov.
