According to overseas reports in Eastern Europe, "Irish" Andy Lee is (31-2, 22KOs) being discussed as a potential option to face WBA/WBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26KOs). Lee has won three fights in a row since getting stopped by Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in 2012. Golovkin is scheduled to return on April 26th, on HBO, at The Theater in New York's Madison Square Garden.
Golovkin fought on Saturday night in Monte Carlo, blasting out Osumanu Adama in seven rounds. BoxingScene.com reported earlier that junior middleweight contender James Kirkland is likely going to appear in the co-featured bout to Golovkin's April return, and may face Polish puncher Damian Jonak.
