The pride of Tijuana, former WBO junior middleweight champion Jaime Munguia (37-0, 30 KOs), is only a few days away from his dangerous middleweight clash with “King” Gabriel Rosado (26-13-1, 15 KOs), which place on Saturday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
By Thomas Gerbasi - A year ago, Gabriel Rosado was preparing for the fight that many believed would be his swan song as a professional fighter. He was 34, with a lot of wear on the tires, and with a 2-3-1 record in his previous six fights, few gave him a shot at beating former world champion Daniel Jacobs on November 27, 2020.
Middleweight contender Gabriel Rosado is looking to continue his hot streak on Saturday night, when he faces unbeaten former world champion Jaime Munguia.
Middleweight contender Gabriel Rosado (26-13-1, 15 KOs) is training very hard for his upcoming fight with former world champion Jaime Munguia (37-0, 30 KOs). Their DAZN showdown takes place on November 13th at Anaheim’s Honda Center.

Jaime Munguia and Gabriel Rosado have a home for their middleweight showdown. The aforementioned bout headlines a November 13 show on DAZN, which will air live from Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Golden Boy Promotions confirmed Thursday. It will mark the first boxing event at the venue since the pandemic, with Golden Boy also taking the lead for its previous offering last February.
A new chapter will be added to the classic Mexico vs. Puerto Rico rivalry on Saturday, November 13, as Jaime Munguia (37-0, 30 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico, will put his undefeated record and WBO Intercontinental Middleweight title on the line when he faces off against the Borinquen warrior “King” Gabriel Rosado (26-13-1, 15 KOs) of Philadelphia, Penn. Fight fans, clamoring for an all-out war between two of the most exciting warriors in the division, will get to see a 12-round ‘Fight of the Year’ contender, live exclusively on DAZN worldwide, excluding Mexico.
Jaime Munguia fully expects to soon enter the middleweight title picture. It won’t happen in the immediate future, though also not too far beyond that point. Despite being named in an ordered WBC title eliminator with Sergey Derevyanchenko, Tijuana’s Munguia (37-0, 30KOs) awaits a fight date with a long-discussed showdown versus Philadelphia’s 'King' Gabriel Rosado (26-13-1, 15KOs). BoxingScene.com has learned that plans remain in place to headline a DAZN show in late October, with October 23 mentioned as a possibility.
Jaime Munguia didn’t have to look far in search of his next challenger once he realized a title fight wasn’t next in store. Talks continue to progress for a potential fall crossroads bout between Tijuana’s Munguia (37-0, 30KOs) and Philadelphia’s Gabriel Rosado (26-13-1, 15KOs), representatives from both camps confirmed to BoxingScene.com. Such a bout would take place at middleweight, where Munguia—a former junior middleweight titlist—remains the number-one contender to both the WBC and WBO titles.
