Promoter Frank Warren is ready to place EBU/British/Commonwealth middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders (21-0, 11KOs) in a world title fight. Saunders impressed this past Saturday night in London, by winning a twelve round decision over previously undefeated Chris Eubank Jr. The fight was a WBO middleweight title eliminator.
The WBO title is vacant. Andy Lee and Matt Korobov will battle for the title on December 13th at the Cosmopolitan Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Warren is staging a show on February 28th at the O2 Arena. The show will mark the return of EBU/British heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. The British promoter is hoping to get Saunders in against the winner of Korobov vs. Lee on that date for the WBO world title.
