    CHINESE MAIDANA formalizes YOUR RETIREMENT

    Friends Boxing:

After much time out of the ring and thinking a lot since my last fight, I decided to hang up his gloves. Surely, my decision will not cause much surprise, because somehow and came forward in recent months. But today the intention is to make it official.

First of all, I must say I'm very proud boxing and this sport deeply grateful for everything I got. I never imagined go so far when I put on the gloves for the first time, when he was 15, in my native Margarita. I think I left high the name of Argentina in the world after winning two world titles, winning and losing, but always against the best.

I had a very hard race and I met several of my dreams. I am a very happy man, with my family and friends. I know that many think that I still have things to do, fights give. And respect. It is something that has given me around in my head for the past months. But only one who he knows what they mean important challenges as I always had perhaps can understand that to face them one must be fully motivated and biased. Only through a huge effort, physical and mental, can you get on a ring with the best in the world if it aims to win. And I've always wanted to win. Today I no longer have the motivation, the sacred fire that is required. And so I announce my retirement.

In this time when mentally reviewing my career I want to thank so many that had to do with my career was successful.
To my discoverer, Ricardo Linari. One of my first coaches, Ricardo Ferreiro. These two were the first in having me faith when he was a just a teenager.
My cousin "pool" which was always, in good times and bad.
A Sebastian Contursi, my adviser, who advised me on my first international steps and learned to take me to the top.
My last trainer, Robert Garcia, who was able to transform to fight on equal terms with the best. In other important coaches that I had, as Rudy Perez and Rafael Liendo.
My trainers, Raul Robles, Cruz "Pensa" Garcia, Alex Ariza and Cicilio Flores.
Dr. Walter Quintero, who was always to wait on me and my family.
Don Gilberto and Gilberto Jesus Mendoza and World Boxing Association (WBA), for always believing in me.
To my sponsors and friends, Hugo Basilotta, Hector "ETIN" Ponce, Marcelo Rossini, Leonel Duarte, Jorge Pablo Brito, who bet on me in a country like ours, where unfortunately companies do not usually support too boxing.
At Golden Boy Promotions and Universum promoter, for giving me the opportunity to show the world.
A Al Haymon, who was a mainstay in the last stage of my career.
My parents, Olga and Américo. My wife Mariana. My kids, Nahuel and Emilia. To all of them, thank you for having bankrolled much.
Finally, my dear fans and fans, who always encouraged me from their homes or at the stadiums where I fought. I will never forget that cry of "Chi-nooooo, Chi-nooooo!"

Now I begin a new stage, in which I will continue linked to boxing, advising and giving my unconditional support "Team Maidana" with the aim that the new generation of boxers come high on their careers. We'll be there next to Jesus Cuellar champion. Alongside the new great values as Brian Brown, my brother Fabian Maidana, Alan Brown, who already calling internationally track. With Javier Maciel. Also next to the newer kids like Neri Romero and Luis Verón. And surely, along with many others that will be added to our challenge. The goal now is that they all take the post.

    MARCOS "El Chino" MAIDANA

Respect to Maidana. Great career. Fun guy to watch.

Hope he enjoys himself with the money he's made & stays relevant in boxing outside the ring in some way which it sounds like he plans to.

I will never forget how shamelessly hard he ducked Keith. He probably retired because the 147 is heating up. Anyway good luck maidana
