Why do a lot of people think tysons power was overrated . Tyson punches made a bigger **** on impact then any other fighters punches in the heavyweight division in the eighties , noise = amount of impact which = power

I am right in saying that noise of punch = force on impact which = power .

Thats not true, a slap makes more noise than a punch but its not harder. I understand what you mean but that definitely not an exact rule.

So if tommy morrison, gerry cooney , mike weaver etc hit harder than tyson then why did tyson punches make more noise on impact .

whenever i make alot of sound whenever i hit the heavy bag its because i hit it really hard. now alot of ppl dont have the speed and velocity and power of tyson. now with all that combined he punches harder then a mother ****er. cause remember the rule speed=power and tyson was extremly fast for his built and that combined with power equal devestating hits. unless your not normal like george foreman and dont need speed.

If tyson did hit harder than everyone in the division then why do we have *******s like holmes, thomas and berbick saying he didnt hit that hard ? .

It has nothing to do with punching power. The usual reason a punch makes a different noise than others is because of the way it is thrown, it does not mean its a harder punch. When Joe Calzaghe punches they sound hard but there slaps. The noise of impact doesn't meassure the power.
