  • I have no problem with Floyd vs Marquez i like the fight

I have no problem with Floyd vs Marquez. I like the fight. Its a pretty risky fight to take as comeback fight imo. Especially with his inactivity. I thought Floyd would have had no trouble with Castillo and an aged DLH, but the fights were a lot more competitive than i expected. Some say Castillo won. I dont, but still...

Marquez probably wont win though unless he reverts back to the less aggressive JMM that was more patient. If he goes after Floyd the way he has been doing recently against Barrera,Pacquiao 2 he will be beat comfortably.

You gotta favour Floyd, but Marquez is a live opponent for a warm up imo. It will look good on Floyd's resume as far as im concerned. If Floyd beats Marquez THEN goes on to beat Pac. I will seriously start thinking about giving the dude some props, allthough to put an exclamation mark on it he would ideally fight Marquez/Pac and Cotto.

This is in relation to the Maweather fans who think im being a hypocrite and therefore will bump this thread, here is my reasoning

AND PLEASE DON'T BRING UP JMM, YOU MADE A THREAD GIVING HIM CREDIT FOR THAT FIGHT! DON'T KNOCK HIM FOR THAT NOW!

I did but i made that assuming Mayweather would not pull what he did against JMM with the weight, i also did not anticipate that JMM would look so poor at the weight, thats not me hating, you know yourself JMM looked extremely slow at that weight and just did not look good at all at the weight (blown up), that said its its a decent warm up but i changed my perception after when people tried to suggest the weight was not a key factor and started making comparisons with Pac's fight with him Lol.

I have no problem with it either. Marquez did call him out, and people forget that Floyd hasn't fought in a long time.

Finally a guy that knows what he's talking about; and this is coming from an anti Floyd poster!

Good post, other posters should take notice.

good post you just about mirror my thoughts on the fight

except i think this current Marquez style is more suited to giving Mayweather problems than the old one

just about no one is as accurate and good at selecting shots at Marquez, so i expect him to be hitting Floyd as much or more than anyone in the past has... and i don't see him getting stopped... i mean, the guy just doesn't give up, no matter what his body is telling him

i think it'll be a very intriguing and watchable fight, and it'll be a nice name on Floyd's resume if he were to win, and a monumental turning point in JMM's career if he is to be the victor

gonna be a weird night for me as a huge fan of both men, on the one hand i'll be happy for whoever wins, and on the other hand i'll be devastated for the loser

For me, this fight depends on what weight the fight takes place at?

At 147, this fights absurd! This fight needs to be at 140 or a reasonable catchweight at the very least IMO. I also realise that it was Marquez who called Floyd out, and he has to 'Put up, or shut up' but still, Floyd wouldn't get much credit for beating Marquez at Welterweight.

I can see where you are coming from with that. Marquez is deffo a better fighter now than he was when he lost to Pacquiao the first time. Im just concerned about his willingness to mix it with such a sharp counter puncher. If he can get Floyd to lead/come to him i think it will be a very interesting fight.

No question he is an accurate mofo. He is probably the top 3 best counter punchers in the sport along with Mayweather.

Man.......it would be crazy seeing Marquez the winner. He has never really gotten his props, and has always been seen as the poor relation to Barrera/Morales etc etc.
