I think he's talking about the purse money for the fighters. You'd have to pay Mosley and Margarito a lot more money than what is paid to JCC Jr. and his opponents.

Being on Regular HBO doesn't mean you suck or less money.. Calzaghe was paid more than 3 million on FREE HBO last summer.. It depends whether HBO will invest money on it.

Chavez Jr. doesn't make million dollar purses I think, and even if his purses are over a million, it's not by much, Top Rank also pays Chavez' opponents much less money, it'd probably cost Top Rank twice or even 3 times as much to put on a fight like Margarito-Mosley.

HBO or Showtime invests in the fight, they cover about 50% of the fighters' purses plus they provide production and commentary, they also help pay for some other things, I can't really remember what. HBO also has the countdown shows which Top Rank wouldn't do, or if they did something similar, would cost them a lot of money.

I think if Top Rank decided to do something like this, they'd be lucky to break even.
