    Seeing as pro boxers have to have annual MRI scans for licences, have you or anyone you know/heard of been refused a renewal based on their MRI?

    Its a big barrier to the sport for a lot of people I think, mainly associating Ali's current condition, but you watch his 15 rounders with the likes of foreman and can see how that's happened. Without more people coming into the sport, more gyms close, etc, etc, so surely some focus should be on it as an issue.

    Its encouraging in a way that amateur mens boxing is now without headgear, but that change must have been based on evidence (apparently that more damage is sustained by wearing the headgear and therefore lasting longer to sustain more blows vs being KO'd earlier), but the vision of no headgear could put new people off even further, there's now no 'perceived head protected place' for men in the sport apart from sparring.
