  • Where is the best place to buy a heavy bag?

    I bought this bag stand...

    http://www.amazon.com/Century-Corner.../dp/B003S0YJYW

Now I need a heavy bag to put on it. Not sure if I should order online or just get one from Dick's or something. Leaning towards online.

I am leaning towards a 100lb bag. Want something durable that can withstand my brutal punching power

I'd advise against a century bag. I've had some century gear (still do actually) I hate it. Fairtex makes some pretty nice stuff, its durable.

Also if you're ordering a bag from somewhere, don't order a filled bag. You'll get slaughtered on shipping. Stuff the bag full of torn up T-shirts from the salvation army. You can usually buy them for $5 a garbage bag full. takes about 4 to 6 to fill up a muai thai bag. I would assume probably 4 of them for a 100lb standard heavy bag.

you can stuff them very tight and get a really nice feel out of the bag, without using sand. I've used a waterbag, was great till it started leaking, it has a waterbed style liner in it. I have 2 bags full of sand, and 2 bags with the T-shirts, one packed very full, its solid as a rock and very heavy, and one with a little give. I prefer the shirts to the sand personally.

If you've got money, they make little rubber pellets to fill the bags with, I've heard great things about them, but never experienced it myself, so I cant recommend it.

There is another brand we had at the gym, that took a beating, and was significantly cheaper than the fairtex stuff.... If I remember the name, I'll let you know. They were low cost but good quality.
