    roberto duran

you guys need to stop mentioning edwin valero. most of his fights were at 130 pounds. he fought one notable lightweight, and he's nobody to write home about, in antonio demarco.

    edit:
old thread. evidently i wrote the same thing months ago

You mean Philip? He wasn't much of a hard puncher, at all. In fact, that was one of the points that often got brought up against him. He didn't have any one punch power.

He wasn't even a good puncher. Below average for a champion.

That's very true, Holiday had a plastic reputation as a puncher, gained from his fights in South Africa.. Got exposed when he fought anywhere else.

Id probably go with Edwin Rosario

Roberto Duran with the right hand has to be right there with him.

More recently Manny Pacquaio was a serious banger at the weight as was Chico Corrales. Im also of the opinion Edwin Valero had dynamite in his gloves there too, despite it not having proven it against top opp.

Alexis Arguello was another thinking about it and Shane Mosley too

Duran was a better two handed puncher than Rosario just look at his hook that stopped lampkin and the two body shots with his left that stopped Fernandez and Brooks.
