Sparring with 18oz gloves for lighter weight guys

I've only ever used 12oz for training and light sparring. I recently switched to Title's Gel bag/sparring gloves which claim they're 14oz but are noticeably heavier than my 16oz cleto reyes. I find that it throws my timing off and my opponent can see most of my punches coming.

Is it a good idea just to stick with it and adapt to the heavier gloves or just use them for the bag? I'm 150lbs at 6'0 btw
