Why not tuck the chin ALL the way down? So its impossible to hit?

  • Why not tuck the chin ALL the way down? So its impossible to hit?

    They say tuck the chin, but not all theway down just most of the way down and then hunch your shoulders up, and hands up to protect the rest.

    But why not press that chin down hard against the upper chest so its near impossible to get to? Then hands up mostly protecting the temples the 2nd weakest point on the head?

    Why loosely tuck it why not make your head and body 1 solid piece by keeping it pressed down?

    To much tension on the neck. Also you seem to forget your shoulders are there to protect. Your left is a big part of form when you extend your jab.

    Do you actually box?

      why is too much tension on the neck a bad thing?

      I can keep it all the way down and not have a tensed neck as well

        anyways its like ray said, too much tension, on every thing not just ur neck lol.
        ur slower, less efficient, wasting eneergy and the etcs.

        u can try it o: if u dont feel tense/slower then why not lol.
