That would be great if one guy didn't have an exclusive network deal...
Cool... then it's not about the highest bidder. Its about catering to one guy who has a contract. If his promotional team had been smart, they would have allowed for their fighter to go where the money flows...

Hey I don't agree with the exclusivity but I also don't see why the fight can't take place. Stevenson is essentially a free agent and HBO has agreed to have him on their network. Supposedly he could make as much as 6 million for the fight. So what's the issue? Showtime wants in on a piece of it? Haymon should be advising his guy to make the 6 million, not be looking out for networks he's in bed with..

You could use the same exact argument for Kovalev signing with HBO in the middle of the rumblings for the fight. He could have not signed an exclusive and forced HBO, Sho/PBC into a bidding war.
Nowhere has anybody seen a $6 million guaranteed figure at any point in time on this planet. Where you got that figure from is likely horriric math?

No, where I got it from is a breakdown of the estimated money figures from the fight that was posted in an article here a few days ago..it said upwards of $14 million in revenue split 50-50... $2 million guarantee up front then 50%back end profits...
Either way, Haymon is looking out for a network instead of his client apparently... They know the fight won't take place anywhere but HBO so they've essentially taken themselves out of the picture.

That's obviously bogus. Gate won't go higher than $2M.
PPV won't break 200k at $30 = $6M (net not gross)
These are generous estimates so there is still a missing $6M.
