THAT fight made Manny, Manny was known as one of the best back then, but he wasn't a HUGE draw compartive to Floyd and even Oscar around the time of that fight.

Because Mayweather is entertaining in and out of the ring. Even his haters think he is entertaining or they wouldn't watch him. With all the haters that said the oscar-pbf fight was boring and bad for boxing, he still continues to break records and sell PPv's almost 5 years later. Mayweather is an attraction, simple & plain.

Also he is undefeated and everyone wants to see the mighty fall and until he losses they will continue to buy his PPV to pray on his downfall.

Pac vs Oscar was also deemed a huge mis-match (in favour of Oscar), whereas Floyd Oscar was seen as much more competitive.

If Pac had the profile he had now, and fought Oscar of 2009 (?), it would do huge numbers. But Pac, like Floyd, needed the exposure of the Oscar fight to break through into the mainstream.

In fact, another reason why I consider Floyd vs Manny to be such a 50/50 split fight is that both needed a fight with Oscar to truly breakthrough - coupled with the fact that they both have used the prospect of the super-fight (each other) to string along peoples interest (though I expect a drop in figures for both their fights once the mainstream realise the fight isn't going to happen).

24/7 was the reason. Not the fight not anything else. It was 24/7, Floyd deserves credit in that. In a sense that he had the idea of making that show.

                      24/7>Floyd>Oscar.
