  • So If A Future Opponents Does That To Floyd

    I meant "future opponent".

Yes, it was wrong of Ortiz to headbutt Floyd. Even if Cortez resume the fight after the point deduction, he wasn't even paying attention.

Even with his trying hard trash talking, we know that Victor is a nice guy. He knows what he did was wrong and hug Floyd. But it was unsportsmanlike of Floyd to just hit right away after the hug. It was classless of Floyd to do that.

Now, if Floyd fights again and a headbutt occur or lets just say he elbow his opponent and the ref stops the fight just to warn him. Then when the ref resume it and let say Floyd show some sportsmanship and touch gloves with his opponent. Then right away, his opponent just keep punching him and gets KO. Don't cry about it.

Your right. But that's the thing about the whole incident, he's not cheating. There is no where in the rule book that states he has to touch gloves, what he did was unsportsmanlike; that is all.

If it happens to Floyd then Floyd's stupid. You keep your guard up at all times. Pretty sure Danny Garcia tells Ortiz this in one of the 24/7 episodes too.

Can't blame him. He shook hands and Ortiz dropped his guard, got caught, simple. That's what he gets for being a bitch and headbutting Floyd. In boxing you can't lower your defense.

You ever watched the Floyd/Bruseles fight where the ref gave Floyd an elbow warning where he said, "No more now! No more". Floyd had the presence of mind, when they faced each other again, to have his hands up and not try to hug or make up.

          Touch gloves and keep fighting...

Wtf is up with the hug and all that shit?

See the fight again, Floyd shouldve been in the Neutral corner UNTIL CORTEZ CALLED TIME IN @ THE OFFICIALS HE NEVER DID.

Official clock wasnt even running during time of KO.

a 5 year old can control a fight better.

Its because Ortiz has the mentality of a kid. He hasnt realized its not a friendly competition, he was up against a predator. For better or ill most great boxers achieve their status because they are unwilling to loose no matter what.

I didn't catch all the way to the end of the broadcast, but were they able to do an after the fight ring interview with Cortez?

Or did Joe get out of there so fast that they were only able to conduct one as he was in his car and exiting the arena?

Indeed. I thought the whole ending of the fight was abysmal and hurt boxing's rep.
