Tyson has said in interviews before that when he was spiraling out of control with drugs, money, and partying post prison he had gone to rehab and somehow met up with Mcneeley through AA. He said he had a good talk with him in his hotel room and said he is a really down to earth guy. He also said that Mcneeley at that point in time agreed with his corner stopping the fight because he was out on his feet.
