Ask yourselves what you've accomplished before sticking your tongues to him.
Rather than be the bigger man -- and follow the steps of Martin Luther King -- Ali chose to be a white-hating black supremacist. I'm not going to sugarcoat it just because he passed away.

I respect the boxer Muhammad Ali, not the bigot, racist, overbearing person he was. Rather than unite his race, he called his fellow black man uncle tom's and house niggers if they did not share his racist views. It's that type of toxic psuedo-leadership that is keeping the black community from moving up the social-economic ladder.

Top 20 boxer and overrated "icon." He was just a manipulative mofo with charisma. A lot of his views on things were dumb as fuck.

He was a young kid growing up in an incredibly racist and hostile society. He no longer represented NOI and its views and instead became a normal Sunni Muslim and apologized for what he said during a turbulent time.

This guy is a boxer, not a public figure. If you honestly can't see past that, especially now that he is dead, then you really lack foresight and perspective.

By Thomas Gerbasi - For those of us of a certain age, boxing began and ended with Muhammad Ali, who passed away at 74 Friday night from a respiratory issue, according to a family spokesman. He was our gateway drug, impossible to ignore or turn away from, and with that personality, he opened up a whole new world unlike any other.

                    False.

In his thirties -- when he was showing early signs of brain damage -- Ali adamantly expressed his desires to keep women's bodies and faces covered in full-body veils.

He also talked about blacks who were fighting other blacks to stop fighting each other for one moment to join forces against the white man.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Ali had a slew of stupid, repressive views.

This guy is a boxer, not a public figure. If you honestly can't see past that, especially now that he is dead, then you really lack foresight and perspective
I said in a recent post, that he took punches for a living and wasn't a civil rights leader. But he subjected himself to criticism when he used his status to advance his racist, repressive agenda.

                    • A truely incredible man.. who transcended the sport and will forever be known as a cultural icon.

Not to mention he was a Human rights activist, who was locked up in a cage for refusing to serve in an immoral and unjust war (even though he would of never shot a gun, he would of been paraded around and fought a few exhibition fights for the troops) but he knew he was a figurehead for young black men around the country.

He was also one HELL of a fighter, who was NEVER stopped in his entire career, just goes to show he had heart, he had incredible skills for a big man, that we will likely never see again.

                      RIP Champ. never forgotten.
