Anyone think Spence could beat Mayweather at this point?

Spence has sparred with Floyd a lot so that is in his favor. I would say no right now given Spence hasn't fought anyone and Floyd would be a Mt. Everest step up in comp.

Let's see if Haymon/Floyd throws Spence in with some big dogs after Bundu then we can revisit this.

Too bad we're not going to be able to make a clear determination on Spence's status until he takes on guys like Thurman, Brook, Garcia, etc. Even beating Peterson will do it for me. He's fighting 41 yr old Bundu next.

The Algieri that he fought was ill prepared, his own coach admitted he was forced into the fight.

IMO Spence has a lot of potential but he's not anywhere near there yet.

Easier said than done though, that's the problem. Even more experienced fighters than Spence who have fought at world title level for years fall right into the trap and fight the way Floyd wants them to.

I honestly think a very technically sound guy like Spence is easier for Floyd than someone like Maidana. At least with a technically sound fighter, there's a rhyme and reason about their work, a rhythm.

With Maidana fighting how he did v Floyd, it's very hard to kind of programme the information into the brain because he's so unorthodox at times.

No, he cant beat him at this point. He needs another step up in competition before he faces someone like a Mayweather or a Pacquiao. If he took on either of those guys right now, with the pay per view lights shining down and an atg staring back at him, he'd probably freeze up a little.

Fighting Chris Algeiri in front of a solid size crowd is much different then fighting Mayweather or a Pacquiao in front of a large crowd with the world watching.
