This is the greatest heavyweight fight of all times..I think Eddie Futch timed
the stoppage perfectly...I think Frazier would have been maimed or worse
if he came out for the 15th,..his face was distorted and he was missing badly
with punches.Sometimes I wonder what I would have done if I was Frazier's
trainer...It must have been a very tough call..
Eddie Futch knew Joe had a family and he prevented a major tragedy
from happening to them which is a testament to Futches' brilliance and
pinpoint accuracy.At the same time this was more than a fight and everyone
knew it...it was about looking at the history books a thousand years from now.
In the end,this was the best possible ending for a situation with few other
options.
