because he knows they like to watch boxing on those days and if he makes himself the only option it will make it look like he is super popular. it's like being a beer salesman on saint paddy's day. if you are the only supplier of beer you will look super popular when it's really the occasion not you.

Funny thing tho is that floyd vs mosely was 1.5 million n mosely us not Mexican. ...
Also Floyd Vs Canelo Did 2.2 MILLIONS But Canelo Goes To Fight A Ppv After N Does 350k???? Also, it was Mexican vs Mexican. .. shldnt it b bigger? ???
Personally I think that the Mexican fan base is solid n is always there(constant).... what matters are the casual fans in the white n black communities that tune in when floyd does a big promotion like he did with mosely canelo Ortiz n delahoya. ....
Whenever h ed is not involved like with Maidana n Guerrero then it tanks as per his standards to less than a mill. ..
The Mexican fan base is always there n the most loyal coz statistically. .. Hispanic fighters dominate the sport in numbers

Because they are the two best dates of the year for any fight promoter.

Cinco de Mayo is more an American holiday then a Mexican holiday, it has become a tradition now to get drunk on that weekend and watch a fight for a lot of people. Every promoter wants the date but Mayweather being the biggest draw gets to flex nuts.

The September date became a staple for Chavez and became a tradition for wealthy Mexicans to travel to Las Vegas and celebrate. DLH later took over the date and now Mayweather has it.

It's a lot easier for people to drop $70 on a date that already has a tradition of getting together and partying.

Canelo was unbeaten at the time of Mayweather fight. When he fought Angulo, he was coming off a loss and Angulo himself was cking off of a loss. Those are significant factors in terms of fighters momentum and ppv buys. Also Danny vs Lucas was on that card. Most anticipated fight of the yr. It helped sell that ppv big time.

Danny vs Lucas help probably push it over 2 mill buys; but the fight was sold out less than 24 hr each stop on the press tour did record numbers; it was doing huge numbers regardless that fight was icing on the cake.

Because boxing is only maybe 2nd to soccer in Mexico. A Mexican family get together is most likely going to watch boxing over a white or black family get together. Boxing is just in their blood.

Hardcore boxing fans can't get their casual fan friends to discuss anything boxing related yet the TS, who is a casual fan, discusses Floyd's ppv sales with his friends.
