Effed up that he chose to get drunk then watch his son's boxing debut
Well the article says he first saw his son's boxing debut which his son lost and, immediately after, Hatton then disappeared on a 3 day drinking/drugs binge. Maybe seeing his son lose sparked off the binge, either he was upset and for his son and couldn't deal with it or he was embarrassed, angry and disappointed that he lost. Who knows.. but it sounds like his son losing had something to do with it, or at least Hatton used that as an excuse.
