Uhh, he wasn't referring to hitting the heavy bag man lol. He was talking about clean shots on an actual person which is true. You barely feel it.

You will absolutely feel hard punches thrown on a heavy bag, especially a stiff/heavy one.

My first question for the thread starter is what gloves do you use and weight? If it is the cheaper Everlast or Title gloves and less than 16oz, I understand why you may be having issues.

I train in sparring 16oz Ringside gloves and they seem to have very good cushion. I can hit the bag as hard as I want with no issues. I competed recently in some 16oz Title gloves and managed to injury my right hand in the course of 6 mins of fighting because they have such stiff/cheap feeling padding. My hand is still not right.

Buy the right kind of gloves (weight and brand)
    Wrap your hands properly
Don't go crazy on the bag until you can handle it

You are going to **** your hands up quick....and for what? Practice? We're talking about practice? Not even a real fight. PRACTICE!

www.ringside.com << Do yourself a favor and get some 16oz gloves.

It should help a little with the wrist...will help a lot in preserving your hands.
