Damn, I didn't know that. Article focused mainly on non violent crimes so even though it probably did help drive down some violent crimes, I don't know to what extent.

I just googled this and apparently blacks are being arrested at a crazy high rate for non violent crimes when compared to whites.

Really makes you realize racism is still a problem in this country

Racism is not the culprit.
And the reason why blacks have a disproportionate problem with the law is because of liberal do-gooders & unionists.

In 1950 , 17% of black american children lived in single mother homes.
In 2010 , 50% of black american children lived in single mother homes..

In 1965 , only 8% of childbirths in black communities occured out of wedlock
Today, it's 72%.

In 1950, married black american women living with their spouse was 53%
In 2010 , that number dropped to 25%

Why is this a problem ? Because:

Black single mother households with children under 18 have the highest poverty rate at 47.5% , compared to only 8.4% of married black american families.

Why is it a problem ? Well , children from single-mother households are more likely to commit crimes because they'll generally remain trapped in poverty.

+ a lack of a male role model or authority figure.
+ lack of a dual-income.

Quoted part and link you posted is just someone's opinion. Many people think that unemployment for blacks increased at a higher rate during great depression due to racial discrimination. Many white people had a racist attitude that whites shouldn't be out of work while blacks are. You obviously think it was unions and liberals. Whatever. I don't care.

As for the rest, you're talking about how being in poverty leads people to cause more crimes...That's true. However, the links I posted prove that in this example both are equally likely to commit this non violent crime...yet blacks are three times more likely to get caught. You think racism isn't a cause of this? It's obviously not the sole cause. Being in an area with more crime is going to attract more police, but three times more likely and serving more time for the same crime is crazy. This thread was started because a white cop called Obama a *******. Deny it all you want, but racism is a part of the problem
