I don't believe in a nation hunting down immigrants and sending them back home over the border. But I do believe they have the right to protect their own culture from some of the negative effects immigration can cause.

When the Indians were 'invaded' they didn't just lie down did they? They fought to keep what was theirs. They lost, the stronger party won. America reserves the same right to protect what's now theirs.

Actually I'm half Mexican myself and no, I'm not a Republican as them and the Democrats are perfectly happy with exploiting immigrants (legal and illegal) for their own benefit, hence this discussion.

I'm sorry dude but they don't want to be a part of this country, the majority want the money they can make here to send it back home. Literally tens of billions of $'s are sent to Mexico from immigrants every year. Their pride, their loyalty lies to Mexico if you won't admit that, you're only fooling yourself. The ones that want to be Americans follow the rules, pay their dues and don't DEMAND that they be given priority over those who did follow the rules and have more to offer to society.

Right now, here in San Jose, we have population issues, lack of affordable housing, high unemployment, and high crime rates coming from our Hispanic neighborhoods. Sorry, but I'm of a very different point of view than you, one that can actually see both points and understands what is best for my country. After all, that is what my government should be concerned with, our welfare, not the welfare of other countries.

Throughout human history this is how land is won. Sad, but true. If these people were so concerned about the welfare of others, perhaps they should start donating a room in their own houses to those in need.
