I think he made around £4-5million which is of course more than what he would make against vitali. It could also be because of the added spice of a common opponent. Because of the fans craving the fight, Haye might get more from the k2 camp.

      • How anyone can believe Haye after all his antics is beyond me, I would rather believe Vitali, and yes I would back him to win if there ever was a fight between them.

If Lennox Lewis in the worst state of his career messed up Vitali's face and Nearly blinding him, making him look like somthing out of a freddie krugar movie...imagine what a fully focused in shape lewis would have done to him.

So far Vitali's best wins are agaisnt Fatty's (Solis and Arreola) and an ex light-heavyweight (Adamek)...he NEEDS! to fight Haye or just retire and stop messing us all about and give up the title.
No vitali was training for a fight with someone else, Lennox was training for a fight with kirk Johnson, then two weeks before Johnson pulled out and vitali stepped up. They'd both had full camps for other fighters, vitali had Lewis in his sights, and Lewis had vitali/wladimir in his sights, he'd said in numerous interviews that after Johnson he wanted to fight a klitschko then jones jr. What about hide, Johnson, sanders and Williams (who had just knocked Tyson out, who was one fight removed from his fight with Lewis), are they not good wins for vitali. What about Peter? Peter had give wladimir trouble, destroyed maskaev and then beat toney twice before vitali ruined him.

Klitschko primarily wanted to face Haye on September 10th in Moscow, Russia, but both sides were unable to finalize the deal. Eventually Vitali fought Manuel Charr (23-1, 13 KOs), whom he beat by technical knockout in the fourth round. Yesterday Klitschko advised Haye to understand that he’s no longer interested in such a bout.
Is there any reaction from Haye yet?

Yeah you are right that Lennox was ment to fight kirk Johnson until he pulled out with injury, but it was ment to be has last fight against a mediocre opponent...he fought that he wouldn't need to train as hard as he would normally train because it was an easy last fight...instead he got a young in prime Vitali who had trained for Lewis for a year, whom he had a tear up with and messed up his face by punches (not head or elbows), and nearly blinding him.

The herbie hide win was not bad since he was a world champ, fast and powerful, Johnson was the same guy that Lennox took so seriously lol, Williams beat a 13 years past his prime faded zombie in mike tyson who Lewis previously destroyed who would later lose to Kevin F'ing Mcbride lol, peter was as slow as a week in jail and had footwork like he was walking through treacle.

Nah. Lummox said he was like fine wine and getting better with age. Vitali stepped in even though he was only prepared for regular undercard fight and not a championship fight. Vitali stepped in with 10 days notice while Lummox had the luxury of a full camp preparing for a championship fight.

Everyone knows Vitali paid him to step aside.

No because he's a bum like Frazier and Holmes.

Why didn't Haye sign the contract?
