it was going fine then it just went full ****** at the end there smdh....

this always happens with nolan flicks. people hype the hell out of it and as usual its grossly overrated.

i judge how great a film is based on its rewatchability and entertainment factor. its very rare i watch nolan films more than once. only saw memento once. same with inception. insomnia.

he's a great director no doubt, but grossly overrated. you gotta give batman more gadgets bro.

i prefer david fincher over him. his films are more entertaining and have higher rewatchability rates.
The Prestige is a movie I've watched over and over again. Flawless movie and I reckon easily one of the best movies I've watched in the past 20 years.

Coen brothers are the undisputed goat

Tarantino is like a combination of a lot of different directors.

Basically the best directors have an acute eye for detail and dialogue. watching the scenes in the coen brothers and tarantino is so real and so poetic it just becomes a masterpiece in itself. I mean seriously go watch raising Arizona, the big Lebowski, no country for old men, pulp fiction, reservoir dogs, etc.

          Just look at his resume.

He's the director version of Daniel Day Lewis.

are you sure you ready for comparing resume? the old time grandmasters works had already survive audiences and critics from many eras

Nolan is the most creative and imaginative director cinema has ever seen. He is constantly producing the most thought-provoking and groundbreaking movies known to man.

Inception and Interstellar were nuts. Momento was the bomb too.

What did Cuebrick ever do?. Space Odyssey was garbage, I've seen better from Michael Bay.

The greatest film director in cinema history, never would have let that happen. (Not to mention he hired that cùnt twice).

Interstellar was good , but the final 15 minutes were kinda "jumped the sharkish". But i'll still give it a thumbs up , only because i totally agree with this:
                  http://motls.blogspot.fr/2014/11/wha...iewers-of.html

His best films are: "The Prestige" , "Memento" , "Inception" ,"Dark Knight"... Those are classics in my book.

Ultimately , all film directors , even the legendary ones , have their share of "meh" films.

Scorsese's best ones are: GoodFellas , Taxi driver , Shutter Island , Casino , The Departed , After Hours , Raging Bull..(in my opinion)

But he's also the same guy who directed those "meh" films: "New York , New York" , "Bringing out the dead" , "Hugo" , "The Color of Money" , "Cape Fear" (De Niro was awesome that one but the film was so-so) , "Kundun" , "Age of Innocence". But then , it's all just very subjective and based on my personal taste in films.

Kubrick's classics (again , just my opinion) , are: Full Metal Jacket , Shining , 2001 a space odyssey , Clockwork Orange , Dr Strangelove.

His "meh" films: Lolita , Eyes Wide Shut , Barry Lyndon , Spartacus , Killer's Kiss.

2001 was almost as flawed as Interstellar imo , but for different reasons. (though 2001's ending was the superior one imo , because it's up to the viewers to draw their own interpretation of the metaphor).

Inception was good, especially given that it was about filmmaking. The dreams are a metaphor for movies in production. Once you realise that it's mind-blowing.

Interstellar was looking great until the last quarter of the film which was absolute and utter dog-turd-sandwiches. And not just any dog-turd-sandwiches. Dog-turd-sandwiches that you think are like Nutella or something right up until you take a bite. Fuck you Nolan.

I liked the Prestige purely because it involved Wolverine having a magic battle with Batman by calling on the expertise of Jareth the Goblin King. It was enjoyable but also ludicrous.

The first two batman films he did were reasonably good although Batman Begins could use a whole lot more Scarecrow. Crane is only the Scarecrow in three scenes before he manages to take his own fear gas and hallucinate mecha-Batman. Nolan's Batman was ruined by TDKR despite Catwoman and Bane being so amazing. The plot of Rises was utterly stupid and hamstrung by Nolan's peculiar insistence that everything he does is Very Important. Batman films are not Very Important because they are about a vigilante who beats up muggers while dressed like a vampire. I like Batman but be real, the premise is pretty dumb.
