hes only 22, why would he retire, so what he got beat, just need to take himself of and train harder and come back even stronger, he will win a world title, talk of him retireing is just silly.

He still has potential but I doubt he could ever become the big draw everyone in boxing and GBP think he was going to be. With that said I think Ortiz should keep going but only if his heart is 100% in to boxing.

As for quitting I dont think he should quit. The mans skills are all there he just needs to stick to his gameplan. Maidana can be beaten easily by someone with a game plan
        Agreed!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mentally he may not be cut out for the elite level but I think he deserves another chance.

No why would he? He got rocked ******, and said some foolish things, you see that in older fighters so ofcourse for a young guy they are more prone to say things they'll regret. Think about it, superstars of the sport like DLH & RJJ, they been killing it for years and when they lose, they say things that make you question them. This kid is in the same boat except he didn't accomplish what they did, yet. He has alot of supporters within Golden Boy if he stays focused he can redeem himself

na he shouldnt quit, everybody loses but he hurt himself by quiting like he did. he wont be any better than fernando vargas but he shouldnt quit he's still young.

If people quit because of set backs like this you wouldnt even have the sport boxing...its a 50/50 1 loses one wins....what a ****** question and the fact people picked yes is even worse lol...

Even if Ortiz doesnt go near being a champion why should he quit? because YOU hyped him to much for his own sake? get a grip

Why does he need to quit?? Because he was sensible enough to know he couldnt give anymore??? Because he doesnt want to head up brain dead? Fight on like a boxer should do and dont quit, too young and too good to quit.
