How can some of these fighters come out saying they're free agents when their promoters say there's still YEARS left on their contract. I mean, it's not like it's a matter of just a couple of months or anything. Something tells me that either the fighters (or managers) are not too bright, or the contracts are made so complicated that they can't even decipher when the contract date ends. Then again, Arum is sayin that there is still two OR three years left on the contract. Well, which is it Bob? Two OR three? A whole year is pretty significant, especially coming from a former attorney regarding a legal contract.

Very interesting info regarding Victor Ortiz. Sounds somewhat similar to Pac and GBP/TR situation. No wonder these guys are such arch rivals. With the new lawsuit brought on by GBP against TR regarding Pac, I'll bet Arum is closely reviewing all of the past payouts from GBP regarding Victors past fights.

Chavez Jr saw the massive paydays Canelo is getting, and wants some of that. Canelo's fight with Baldomir got him $600,000 now with his re-up he's probably getting close to that mil.

GBP pays it's fighters with star potential better, so it seems.

Angulo got beat like a dog by kermit, he has a big fan base in Mexican community, but really Alfonso Gomez would box Alfredos ears off. That being said canelo would stand right in front of him, because his total lack of movement, and the fight would resemble rockem sockem robots.

its hard to believe that chavez jr says he has no more contract with TOP RANK....when infact he was scheduled to fight cotto as a TOP RANK fighter, but chavez jr pulled out...all of this stemmed from chavez jr not wanting to go to the filipines to train with his fellow TOP RANK boxers.

Canelo made $200,000 from his last fight, according to Boxingscene. JCCjr made $500,000 from dudy fight.

This is kind of messy with each guy saying their own stuff, don't really know who to believe.

JR. obviously makes more than Canelo at this point in their careers but that may change soon.

I honestly think Jr. believes he is a world championship fighter who can beat anyone. I think he WANTS to fight Canelo bad too and knows GBP is the way for that.

Still, I believe he'll stick with Top Rank because Top Rank has a way of locking people into contracts legally better than GBP done.
