i hope de leon wins.....he is pretty uncoordinated though... i can see escalante teeing off on de leon in spots.....and since the Lopez fight, De Leon's chin doesnt seem as sturdy as it used to be...

De Leon's long armss and natural heavy hands will have to help him keep Escalante honest....

fu.ck it, i say De Leon wins by late TKO.....
It was too little too late, maybe eked by was the wrong way to put it but Lock made it interesting at the end of the fight.

As I said, eked by was probably the wrong way to put it but Lock did give him trouble towards the end of the fight. And he did manage to outbox De Leon in spots. As a boxer, De Leon is limited, he'd have more chances to win this fight as a brawler.

My impression is that Escalante is more of a guy on his way up, while De Leon is the opposite.

Exactly as I see it. Escalante still seems to be on the rise or at least peaking. De Leon no longer seems to have that edge.

I think it will be a tough fight early, but Escalante will stop De Leon mid rounds.

Who do you guys have in this fight? Ponce De Leon looked really good against Lock and Cruz, and Escalante was in a war with Miguel Roman (who is fighting wednesday against Tyrone Harris on the Gonzalez-Asiku PPV).

I think this fight goes all 12 rounds and Ponce De Leon outboxes Roman in a war to win a close but reasonably clear decision (right around 116-112).
I've seen Escalante on his A-Game and off it. On his A-Game he can compete with the likes of Lopez and Gamboa. With that said I'd expect Escalante to ice De Leon. Ponce can't box at all but Escalante can be a sucker for that straight left when he forgets his defense. Still though, I have to side with Antonio on this one.
