I don't understand how you guys truly believe Cotto won't get credit for beating Pacquiao. The general public will look at Cotto as the dude who beat Pacquiao, don't underestimate the general fans. They see what they see. It's only hardcore Boxing fans who will dissect each fight or fighter as "Not good enough win" or "Pac was too small", etc.

I guarantee if Cotto beats Pacquiao, he'll be a made man. The only people frontin' are those who just hate on Cotto for no particular reason.

I dont know, the more i think about this fight, the less excited i get.

Mosley vs PAc, now thats a fight i could get excited about.
      oh well....
It is pointfull in a way that it eliminates one good champion and leaves Mosley and the winner of PBF-JMM to unify the ww division, if PBF wins that is. It is also important for Pac to win his historic 7th weight world title.

And if Pac is victorious, a Cotto-Marg rematch would be bleak. So in many ways, this match is important.

It also offers a possible end to Pacman`s rampage, to the delight of Pac haters.

Bull**** Cotto is the best WW in the world and defend his belt, y'all must have forgot what Cotto did at WW. When Mayweather got lucky to fight Baldomir as the undisputed champ, Cotto was whooping the best Quintana, Judah, and most of all SHANE MOSLEY.

It"s rather what Pacquiao has done to deserve this shot, except being a P4P superstar. At 147: he never fought/ at 135 he fought a bum( David Diaz)/ at 140: he beat Hatton when it was clear Bradley was the man in the wieght class.

Keep doubting and underestimating, you'll see.

Should be an okay fight, but I agree it's gonna be a one sided affair after three rounds or so. Mosely/Pac would have been more competitive and more exciting.

I'm more looking forward to what happens after JMM/Mayweather and Pac/Cotto. We should definitely get some great fights one way or the other as a result.

Style wise, Cotto is the easier fight for Pacquiao. Roach knows this - why do you think they rejected a fight with Mosley, even at 143, with Mosley practically begging for the fight.

I would love for Cotto to beat Pac, but I just don't see it happening.

They took the Cotto fight because it was the fight Arum was leaning more towards setting up. Pac and Roach saw "flaws" in Cotto during the Clottey fight and still look at Cotto as a big win (which it is). Did they see a threat in Mosley? Maybe, but fighting Miguel Cotto isn't taking steps down considering Cotto has a win over Mosley.

Also considering there's a cathweight for this fight, I'm sure they're not looking at Cotto as simply an "opponent". Risky fight for Pacquiao.

UMMMMMMM the fact that cotto brings in a TON more cheese than mosley answers your question.

bro - take into account the level of opposition - not the flashy KO of an overrated brit and a malnourished mexican and countless other past their prime mexicans, oh, and the only one that was still in their prime, JMM, you can make a solid case for him winning both those bouts.

put that up against a bout against zab judah, quintana, mosley, margarito, clottey ... SON do you smell what i'm cookin' here!!!

be ready to be loving life then at about 12:30am when cotto gets that W then - sorry for going all in on you like that - you showed something in your reply.

                      good k for you.
