A motivated Mosley has enough foot and hand speed to give Margarito trouble. He also has a very good chin. Its gonna be good, i suspect Mosley will go out on his shield if he does lose.

The argument that Williams lost his Ring ranking because he gave up his WBO title is ridiculous. Since when did The Ring care about alphabet belts, especially the WBO one, which has a history of ranking journeymen as mandatory contenders. Why should Williams have to fight journeymen just in order to maintain his Ring rating?
The Ring continued to rank Calzaghe as the Super Middleweight champion after he moved up to light-heavyweight, and only removed that ranking when Calzaghe confirmed to The Ring that he would no longer campaign at Super Midlleweight - for several months Calzaghe held both Ring titles simultaneously. Williams has not stopped campaigning at Welter, he'll fight at Welter as soon as a serious opponent agrees to fight him.
The Ring's removal of Williams from its Welterweight rankings is just disgraceful. I have lost a huge amount of respect for The Ring's integrity as a result of this.Last edited by Dave Rado; 01-15-2009, 03:13 AM.

I think Margarito is going to find out pretty quick just how strong Mosley is. It will be a factor in this fight.
You can call it roids all you want.
That chin isn't a factor in that.
Margarito is in for a battle.
Meanwhile, Cotto is just singing along, walking in a, what?
The rematch happens in June. Margarito smashes Cotto again. CottoisBackBitch complains about somebodies state of finances again, goes camping with another wilderbeast, misses the fight, and goes on another exile.
PWILL 154 KING.

Screw cotto!! His ass got slayed by margarito. You didn't ever see mosley take a knee in his career ever and you wont next saturday cause mosley is a warrior, not a quitter. People act like cotto beat up on mosley when many had shane winning on their cards and if their fight would have been an old school 15 rounder, no doubt mosley would've kod cotto as he took that 12th round. Cotto can only decisively beat bums like judah and gomez, when has he ever beat a top notch threat in his career who were in their prime? Never, cause hes always been overrated.
Cottooooo, yeah, margaritos coming for you!!
Ps-im not mexican.

Margarito will DESTROY Mosely!
Once again I see all the nonsense posted on this fight...that Margarito is going to feel Mosely's power etc. etc. Come on. Mosely was a very good fighter in his day. He was quick, packed some power and the combination was a formidable opponent for anyone. He's now old, a bit slower (although still quick) and doesn't come close to having the power that others Margarito has already beat have...namely Cintron. If Margarito can take all that Cintron had to offer power wise, what makes anyone think that Mosely's power is going to be a factor? It's total nonsense.
Margarito WILL DO what he's done in his last fights. He'll apply non stop pressure from the opening bell. He'll get hit with some shots early that will have many thinking Mosely is in control (Does this sound familiar to the Cotto Fight)? Margarito knows that Mosely isn't going to knock him out. With that knowledge, he'll close in on things with more pressure earlier than he did against Cotto. Mosely will go against his usual style and try to turn this in to a hold fest once he sees he can't hurt Margarito. Margarito will smile (something he does often when he knows he can't be hurt) and keep after Mosely with reckless pressure. He'll wear Mosely down...take his best punches and his desire to fight...his will...and then he'll beat the **** out him just like he did to Cotto. When it's all over, many will wonder how Mosely lost control of things...they'll note how good he looked in round 1 and 2...maybe 3. People just don't get it. Margarito is one tough MF'er. He can take whatever people throw at him and not flinch. He laughs...enjoys getting hit as his granite chin probably hurts the fighters hands more than their punches hurt him. Margarito will win. I predict he'll get after it a bit earlier than he did against Cotto and win my an nasty KO in the mid to late rounds. For Mosely's sake...I hope it ends fairly early. As we saw in the Cotto fight, if it goes into the later rounds...Margarito remains fresh and can really do some damage to his opponent! I hope that Mosely comes out of the fight unhurt! Is that a word? Don't know but...DO KNOW that Margarito is going to destroy Mosely!

If he can get passed Williams in a rematch then I would recognize him as the best at 147. That's why I said after he beat Cotto he should have immdediately went after Williams to lay claim on the #1 spot but I think he is trying to get as much off of this Cotto win as possible before facing Paul in my opinion.

Nice history knwoledge but I couldn't care less about that. I mean we simply have to live with the fact there are 4 world champions in every weight. There's simply no way you can assume who is the best. Some boxers sit on their title, others defending them against weak opposition. But I mean in the end you can make for various ppl only a few with true merrit but I stopped a long time ago because it doesn't change anything. If Margarito is the ring champ what does it change. He will win against Mosley and will put a name on his resume and will build on it. He will face Cotto again. This is one is really tricky... I strongly believe that Cotto was more stunned and astonished that somebody could take his punhces that well. He's not a one punch ko type of dude but still every body he fought had respect for his power. If he really tries to win that on points, doesn't throw a bomb with every shot and doesn't get his nose broken he has a chance. He will have to work on his defense though... it's something different if you look like a good defender in the middle of the ring. On the ropes it's important... he can't lean into shots etc.
So who's the best at 147??? Who know's... I personally think that nobody has the right to claim that. Cotto lost against Margarito, Margarito lost against Williams and until now didn't go for a rematch which was offered I don't know. Who has the right... Mayweather is the best out there skill wise but doesn't fought top competition at Welterweight so... I really don't see a case for anyone really. It doesn't man that you got to beat everybody but you should win the fights you got and they failed on occasions... the only one who avenged his loss was Paul Williams. Does it make him the champ I would say no, cause he has not enough top class opposition... So... is Margarito the best? Probably yes. Is Cotto the best? Probably yes. Is Williams the best? Probably yes... I really couldn't care less as long as I get see great boxing match-ups.

If the Ring recognized Antonio Margarito after this Mosley fight then he would NOT give Paul Williams a rematch because he would not need Paul to claim the top spot. Beating Cotto and then Mosley doesn't impress me because them dudes are small guys, the one guy he couldn't beat was taller so I feel he still has something to prove.

I just recently had a discussion about Mayweather and how ***** he is. And I told him that you simply have to see at which weight a guy fights. I mean May fights about 3 to 4 weight classes above his own starting weight. Could you imagine Margarito doin it??? I don't think so... I personally think that even 154 would be too much for him and rest of sure Middleweight. And if I hear him talk about Manny Pacquiao I don't know... whasn't that what he said about DLH matching a smaller guy??? Williams is the guy you got to beat. He beat you, he is still in his prime so you can take it back and nobody would cry. But so this **** is really annoying.
But like I said you could say it about anyobody if you want to. For example Hopkins... you could very well argue that his biggest wins came against ppl who were smaller. Trinidad is no real Middleweight... DLH ain't... Winky isn't a light Heavyweight, Pavlik as well... as he was match against talent he lost (Roy Jones, JT who is a big MW)... the only one you could say would be Tarver who was a light Heavyweight... so you can always turn things around how you like it
