  • Help needed with jab

    hey guy i sparred last night
    my first time in a while like 3 months
    and my jab is ****,
    my right is very good my trainer said,
    but i know my jab is ****, and i didnt use it
    so i keept rushing in.
    any ideas or work outs to fix that??

    yah practice it more then twice a week

      I've had a problem with my jab as well, as my muscles deteriorated because I hadn't worked out following my car accident last year. What I began doing was pushing out my jab and getting countered. You have to turn your left shoulder on your jab, which gives it more power and helps you avoid counters by making your head go down to the right. Practice makes perfect.

        The reason that you had trouble with your jab that night was because you were off for three weeks. You must get in the gym and into the ring regularly to keep your eyes sharp. The problem was not your jab or how you threw it, the problem was that you did not have your range in perspective. You were probably shooting it from either too far or from to close. Its natural, just keep stepping into spar and it will fix itself.............Rockin'

            Also work on the speed of ur jabs, shadow box while holding a wieght on the hand u jab with.

              Or just jab the heavy bag untill you can't hold your arm up anymore.
