Says it all, and i think had it not been for the fact (revealed in the post-mortem) he had an abnormally thin skull, Johnny Owen may well have won a title.

I've worked in Merthyr Tydfil and it's a pretty tough place with more than it's fair share of prize fighters and hardened ex-miners. To his credit, Pintor went there to unveil the proud bronze statue erected in his honour. He stayed with Owen's parents who treated him like an adopted son, and to the best of my knowledge (if they're alive) still do to this day.
