  • Comments Thread For: Angulo Says No Contract Yet, But Hopes For Canelo Shot

Notifight.com/BoxingScene.com recently reported that former WBC super welterweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has selected Alfredo "Perro" Angulo to be his opponent on March 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV. The fight will be distributed by Showtime Pay-Per-View.

Angulo isn't the type of fighter to call out out names but it is no secret that he would love to face Canelo. He said that he hopes to hear something soon in regards to the possibility of the fight coming to fruition.

Canelo is probably waiting on Archie Solis if he'll come up in weight from Flyweight and this time do it in the ring instead of the streets. Lets see.

GB depending on the Mexican fanbase to go ppv. Otherwise they keeping Alvarez away from Lara.

Lara doesn't have nor has he ever held a world title and he has zero name recognition.Outside of looking really good against two southpaws,he has suffered two draws and two knockdowns. He doesn't deserve the fight.

Canelo must read the blogs and realize his fans won't pay for that fight.

I doubt this will be a PPV. They're not gonna have time for a tour.

He does hold the WBA strap.

They better have some other good fights on this card, or the PPV won't sell very well.
