In his recent interview with Hamburger Abendblatt, Waldemar Kluch, the new head of Universum Box Promotion, indicated the possibility of a big heavyweight fight between reigning WBA “regular” champion Alexander Povetkin (24-0, 16 KOs) and highly regarded contender Denis Boytsov (31-0, 25 KOs), who is rated #1 by the WBO, #2 by the WBC, #4 by the WBA and #10 by the IBF. The fight between two undefeated Russian heavyweights is possible in the fall, said Kluch.

Too dangerous for Povetkin, he'll duck.

Dangerous for Povetkin, too early for Boystov. Doesn't make sense too much sense to fight. Boystov needs a few more years before he tries for a title.

          Interesting fight on paper.
But i can't see 2 undefeated fighters risk theirs "0" against each other... They 'll look to another low risk fight.

boytsov has a win over dom guinn & jason gavern. those are his 2 best wins so do you really think boytsov is that good? boytsov needs to fight a top 20 guy soon. i think povetkin would handle him quite easily at this point.

Isn;t Universum on the verge of death? Probably just trying to get any big fight possible in hopes of cashin out before they go under

Bydenko was top 15 in multiple orgs when Boytsov knocked him out. His win over Pala is also better than Gavern. He hasn't fought a legit top 10 yet and it would be a logical move but a fight against a guy his own size in Povetkin with a paper title wouldn't be a bad choice. A fight against Helenius, Pulev, Haye and a few others would be equally dangerous with less reward.

Mitchell, Arreola, Stiverne or Wach, Pianeta, Ustinov if he wants to fight big guys would be a good fight towards the next level.
