If hatton wins it will be all down to maywweather snr's input. Because the old hatton wouldn't have stood a chance against manny IMO. Also, i'd be surprised if hatton doesn't fall into his old ways of fighting when the fight goes in to the treches. He's been with floyd snr for less than a year, hatton will start fighting to his old style as the fight goes on, i'm sure of it. But, maybe a few changes might stick and prove to be effective!
it's actually arguable that the old hatton would have stood a better chance against pac. Old Hatton would have bumrushed and hugged pac to death and KTFO him. New Hatton may try to box more and he can't outbox Pac and he'll be owned.
Either way I predict Hatton by stoppage.

Hatton has never been stopped on cuts.

Pacquiao has never stopped anyone on cuts.

Against Maussa, Hatton was badly cut by a clash of heads in the very first round, then Maussa rubbed his glove laces into Ricky's cut at every opportunity (without getting penalised for his fouling) - yet Ricky dominated every round for nine rounds, before knocking Maussa out.

It is extremely difficult to stop Hatton on cuts.

I would bet all my points that it won't end that way.

He won't try to outbox Pac. But he'll use his jab on the way in like he did against Tackie and Malignaggi, instead of leading with his face like he did against Mayweather. And he'll move his head on the way in, like he did against Tackie and Malignaggi. And he'll use more lateral footwork on the way in, so as to create more angles, like he did against Tackie and Malignaggi, instead of coming forward in straight lines as he did against Mayweather. He'll still be a rough-house brawler, just a more intelligent rough-house brawler than in most of his recent fights.

This is laughable. He says he's studied Pacquiao closely... How can this be true when he thinks Manny got KO'd twice by body shots? It sounds to me like he's watched a bunch of low-quality YouTube clips or been readng the posts of ill-informed BoxingScene members.

Pacquiao was never KO'd twice from body shots, it's a ****** myth brought about by people who are too ****ing lazy to watch fights closely. FACT: Pacquiao was knocked out once by a body shot. It happened while he was weight drained and couldn't make 112 at the weigh in. He was stripped of his Flyweight title for it. Shortly after that KO, Manny moved up two weight classes. He couldn't make 112 any longer, he was a boy becoming a man. Since being drained (10 years ago) he has not had trouble with body shots.

If the self-proclaimed best trainer in the world is too blind to see what I've just explained, I have to conclude that he doesn't watch closely enough, and I have no belief at all in what he says.

Hatton's body shots are good but overrated. The reason why is because he managed to get a decent body punch on a very battle-worn version of Castillo a few years ago. Since then, who has he hurt seriously with body shots? Nobody, as far as I can remember. If his body punching was as good as claimed, he would have gotten Malignaggi and Lazcano out of the ring that way. Instead, Lazcano goes the distance and Malignaggi gets the towel thrown in by an overly cautious Buddy McGirt -- a trainer well-known for pulling his fighters out when often it's not quite necessary to do so.

            Don't believe the hype.

Manny is not sugar ray robinson

I think a lot of people are giving Manny way too much credit. Pop in the tysu fight and witness how relentless Hatton is and how well he takes punches. Marquez nor Manny have the power to keep Hatton off of them. A lot of people are going to be really disappointed in the outcome.

IMO, this is plan B and they aren't saying what plan A is (box pac and hope for the best).

Yes, and witness the corrupt referee allowing Hatton to get away with dirty tactics as well. Good idea.

You mean the 8 punch laser guided nuclear warhead recoilless combo, right? Because that's what's coming and Ricky can't take it. The plan will fly out the window in no time. The skill differential is amazing. Add to that a real good training ethics by Pacquiao and REAL discipline he has always had (the man can train in Hollywood and still have that discipline). I don't see how Ricky can win that one. The only surprise we will see is Pacquiao actually being the stronger man and pushing Hatton back. We will see this around round 3 when Pacquiao notices he can hit Hatton and not worry about a counter. Did anyone notice how Pacquiao was respecting Hoya until he saw Oscar was flat? That comes from fighting Marquez who really makes you pay for any mistakes as he is the best counter-pucher in the game right now. This will probably give Hatton a couple competitive rounds in which he will diet jabs and watch Pacman's in and out-before-you-can-do-****-about-it movement. After the third Pacquiao will probably have tasted Hatton's power and feel ok to move in for the kill.
