Miguel Cotto vs Marco Maidana at 147

Hearing Cotto is looking for a new trainer.

If he does find one he needs to make an effort to make 147.

    He's too small for 154.

Now if he can make the weight this is the fight I wanna see first.

    Who wins?

Maidanas punching power was a myth at 140 and at 147 hes slower it seems. Hes just really tough and throws alot of punches except when he was sluggish vs alexander.

I love this fight for Cotto now, his best oppurtunity is at 147 where he could still beat Alexander and Paulie. Bradley would be a sick fight like clottey-Cotto too. Just have a tune up with Maidana who he can easily outbox. Would be a war though but Cotto is still too much at this point. Trout was just younger bigger and faster. 147 Cotto is big and still a handful. He could earn a Pac rematch down the line. Even a Floyd rematch would be sick if he could beat Bradley or something.

Maidana vs Guerrero first in the spring/summer then the winner gets Cotto in the fall

@ 147 Cotto is a beast, but too tough to call at this point.

Smart money's on Cotto, UD. Odds wouldn't be lop sided though.

I don't think Cotto can make 147 anymore, I believe he said so himself. A drained Cotto fighting Maidana sounds like a bad idea. If Cotto is to move back down to 147 he should probably take on a light puncher first.

Correction. He'd rather be eating good with all the money he has now.

His "ripped and ready" weight is 147. There's no doubt about it.

You saw what he was eating, when he was cooking for his daughter, during the Cotto/Trout 24/7 (SHowtime's version) show?

Cotto just mentioned his return in the fall...is that a hint that he may be coming back down to 147 since he will need that time to do so "safely"?

                    ???
