  • Good for Floyd and in the short run for boxing.

I don't know why people are ripping Steve Kim even though he said it's just a rumor. Kim never stated that the numbers were official. He said something and the *******s ran with it as if they struck gold or something.

It looks like Mannix of SI and Fighthype were both incorrect in reporting both of their numbers by 500K-1 million.

Something caught my eye reading Rafael's article though:

"Although the buys equaled those of Manny Pacquiao's 2008 fight with Oscar De La Hoya and virtually matched those of Pacquiao-Shane Mosley in May (official numbers were not released for that fight)..."

Why hasn't Showtime still said anything in regards of official numbers for Pac/Mosley?

    • That's coming off a near 2 year lay-off.

Damn! THAT many people paid to see him lose?

At the end of the year, Pacquiao will singlehandedly of sold more than twice all the GBP's PPV's of the year combined.
It was promoted mostly on CBS. What's next Check? Are you gonna say HBO is in more homes than CBS?

You don't need Showtime to order Showtime PPV.

It did not have a 24/7.

It had a very poor undercard - unlike Mayweather/Ortiz which had superstars like Canelo Alvarez and Erik Morales - all fighting during a major Mexican holiday.

It had two fighters that didn't do any trash talking.

Pacquiao fights twice per year unlike Floyd who ARTIFICIALLY pumps up demand by only fighting once every 14 months.
Stop Posting FACTS, *****'s will explode and ******* with nutt on themselves.

Dan, when you report the PPV resullts of Pac-Marquez, will you also get the official results from what Mayweather tells us to write, instead of HBO PPV official number?

                  Dan Rafael (12:26 PM)

It's the same thing. HBO audits the numbers and provides them to Golden Boy/Mayweather. Golden Boy and Mayweather get the numbers from HBO.
