  • Comments Thread For: David Lemieux To Face James de la Rosa, March 12 in Montreal

The revolution won't be televised, but David Lemieux is poised to return to the middleweight mix.

Next up for the former titlist is a March 12 clash with James de la Rosa, to take place at Olympia Theatre in Montreal, Canada. News of the bout and location was confirmed to BoxingScene.com by Camille Estephan, Lemieux's manager.

The bout will not be carried by HBO, who owes a fight the charismatic boxer from Montreal - just not his next one.

Lemule goes from headlining a GBP card, to PPV, to untelevised card? That's going backwards, not forwards.

can't blame a guy for tuning up after being schooled and battered in his last fight. i guess stevens or monroe jr will be his opponent in summer on HBO

This is just an easy fight for Lemieux to take for the moment, to get his confidence back after that GGG thrashing. He's going to use that, "HBO-owes-me-1" for a later date, against a decent opponent. I could potentially see him trying to fight Andy Lee/Saunders/Jacobs.

I feel bad for Monroe. Loses out on another big pay day.

He doesn't have an exclusive contract with HBO. They only promised him a date as reward for facing GGG

Kudos to Lemieux for fighting ggg right away when he could have fought some mediocre guys and made some $. But now to fight no name bums you cannot learn from or get quality rounds is of no purpose. Fight guys you can beat but who will challenge you help develop your skill set help you grow this is it for you next title fight if you lose will be your last. Get a real trainer. Learn to slip a jab jab and move your head till you get inside then unload study vintage Tyson that's who you imagine you are.
